Non-Custodial Tenancy Deposit Scheme
Landlords now have 14 days from the receipt of the deposit to register with an authorised scheme and to inform tenants of the scheme details. We have a special arrangement with Tenancy Deposit Solutions Limited (TDSL), and we are able to offer our members a subsidised rate to access this scheme. The normal cost of registering for membership of the scheme with TDSL is £58.75, but we will subsidise this fee for our members by nearly £16 to enable NFRL full members to register for only £43. Simply log onto the members' only section of our website and get a special promotional code, then click on the link to the TDSL website and quote the code when you complete the registration forms. After registration, each deposit can be registered with TDSL for a fixed fee of £30. Terms and condition apply.

Energy Performance Certificates
Residential lettings starting on or after 1 October 2008 now require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). To make things easy we have teamed up with Christopher Rodgers (Home and Energy) Ltd to provide EPCs at a discounted flat-rate price of £74, inclusive of VAT, for any residential lettings property irrespective of size.  EPCs give a graphic illustration of the energy efficiency of a building and the EPC must be shown to the potential tenant. A property inspection by a Domestic Energy Assessor is required so access has to be arranged. Christopher Rodgers also deal with commercial property EPCs at competitive prices but the discount for members applies only to residential lettings.

Want to Get More Involved?
Negotiations with local, regional and central government are mainly carried out by landlords volunteering their time. Volunteering to liaise with local authority representatives on behalf of your branch is a great way to make useful contact within your local authority, and meet other landlords and investors in your area.

Regional Network
The Federation is organised into a network of twelve regions containing local branches, run by local volunteers with support from the Admin Office in Portslade and other Affiliated Associations. The branches represent landlords in the area, working with local government, universities and colleges, employers and housing groups. If you would like to speak to your local Branch representative, please call the Admin Office and we will arrange for them to contact you.
