Main conference sessions will include: Day delegate rates at outstanding value from just £75 Energy Performance Certificates Following successful negotiations we are pleased to announce that NFRL has teamed up with Christopher Rodgers (Home and Energy) to provide residential lettings EPCs, exclusively to NFRL members, at a discounted flat-rate price for any residential property irrespective of size. Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) will be required for all new residential tenancies created on or after 1 October 2008 but members are advised, especially if they have frequent turnover of tenants or large portfolios, to beat the expected September rush. There is nothing to stop landlords obtaining their EPCs - valid for 10 years - straightaway. More details can be found in the members only area under Energy Performance Certificates. New Fire Regulations NFRL have drafted a ‘template response letter' for use by members who wish to respond to requests from Local Authorities, Universities or Colleges regarding request to implement new Fire Regulations now, in advance of the definitive LACORS guide. This letter can be found in the members only area of our website under ‘Member News'. Tenancy Deposits Since 6 April 2007, tenants' deposits have been regulated. Now, landlords taking tenancy deposits have to join a Tenancy Deposit Scheme. For more information on 1) the schemes available 2) alternatives to taking a deposit 3) Scheme details to give to your tenants (in 'prescribed' form), click on the Deposit Options page. IMPORTANT NOTE: Landlords who instruct agents to register tenants' deposits with a Tenancy Deposit Scheme should ensure those deposits are protected. Ask the agent for a copy of the certificate the scheme provider will supply.
